An English-language opera commissioned by San Francisco Opera, directed by Stan Lai, composed by Bright Sheng, with sets and costumes by Tim Yip. In September 2017 it made its first tour of mainland China, playing Beijing, Changsha and Wuhan. I handled make-up, wigs and quick changes for the voices of the Stone and the Flower, the dancers and the ladies-in-waiting.
